v0
FreemiumAI agent that builds production React + Next.js apps end-to-end — UI, backend, and deploy.
Vercel's AI agent for building real React + Next.js apps end-to-end — UI, backend, database integrations, and one-click deploy. Repositioned in February 2026 from "generative UI" to a production-grade coding agent with GitHub import, a Git panel (branch / PR / deploy-on-merge), and Snowflake/AWS data connectors.

What is it
v0 (v0.app, with v0.dev redirecting) is Vercel's AI coding agent. Originally a Tailwind/shadcn UI generator at GA in 2024 (4M+ cumulative users by early 2026), v0 was officially repositioned on February 3, 2026 as an "AI agent that helps anyone create real code and full-stack apps and agents" — built for production apps, not just demos. Four plans live on v0.app/pricing: Free ($0, $5 included monthly credits + 7 msg/day cap), Team ($30/user/month), Business ($100/user/month), and Enterprise (custom). Pricing has been credit/token-metered since May 2025.
What it can do
Generate Next.js apps with Tailwind and shadcn/ui from natural-language prompts, screenshots, or Figma; build full-stack with Supabase, Neon, Upstash, Vercel Blob, Snowflake, and AWS databases; integrate Grok, fal, and Deep Infra AI models; import any GitHub repo into a sandbox runtime with auto-pulled env vars and configs; manage code via the Git panel — every chat gets a branch, every chat can open a PR against main, and merging deploys; run autonomous agent loops (web search, site inspection, error fixing, external tool calls); deploy one-click to Vercel; and on Business+, call the v0 API.
Who is it for
PMs, designers, engineers, data scientists, marketers, educators, support teams, and founders who want to ship working apps in one tool. Free works for prototypes; Team ($30/user/mo) for collaborating teams; Business ($100/user/mo) for orgs that need v0 API access and training opt-out; Enterprise for SOC 2 / ISO / GDPR / HIPAA compliance, Dedicated Secure Compute, AWS Bedrock Inference, SAML SSO, and RBAC.
Key Features
Next.js + Tailwind + shadcn/ui Code Generation
v0 defaults to Next.js with App Router, React Server Components, Tailwind CSS, and shadcn/ui — the same stack Vercel optimizes for. Prompts ("Build a SaaS pricing page", "Add a sign-in form") return complete, runnable React code rather than disconnected snippets, leaning on Vercel-specific knowledge baked into v0's context.
GitHub Import + Sandbox Runtime
Introduced February 2026: v0 can import any GitHub repository into a sandbox runtime that automatically pulls environment variables and configuration from your Vercel project. This makes v0 usable on existing codebases — not just greenfield prototypes — so engineers can ask v0 to refactor, extend, or debug real production apps.
Git Panel — Branches, PRs, and Deploy-on-Merge
Every chat in v0 can create a new branch, open a PR against main, and trigger a real Vercel deployment when merged. PR previews map to real Vercel preview URLs. The Git panel makes v0 work inside actual review processes, so non-engineers can ship production code via the same workflows engineers already use.
Full-Stack Integrations — Supabase, Neon, Upstash, Snowflake, AWS
Through Vercel Marketplace, v0 wires apps to Supabase, Neon, Upstash, Vercel Blob, Snowflake, and AWS databases on prompt (e.g. "Add a Supabase database with tasks/users/projects tables and CRUD routes"). AI integrations include Grok, fal, and Deep Infra. Env vars and connection strings are stored securely as Vercel environment variables.
Use Cases
Build a production SaaS landing page in one chat
Founders generate a Next.js + Tailwind landing page complete with pricing table, hero, testimonials, and CTA, then deploy to Vercel from the same chat.
Scaffold a full-stack CRUD app with auth
Prompt v0 for a Next.js app with Supabase tables for users/tasks, API routes for CRUD, and a login flow — deployable in minutes for an internal tool MVP.
Refactor an existing repo without forking workflows
Engineers import a GitHub repo, ask v0 to migrate to App Router or upgrade Next.js, and v0 opens a PR with reviewable diffs instead of dumping code in a chat.
Designer-to-code handoff from Figma or screenshots
Designers upload a Figma export or a competitor screenshot and v0 reproduces it as accessible React + Tailwind components.
